DISNEY+ CHOICE NUMBER 1 MALEFICIENT

 Hello ladies and gents this is the Viking and the Valkyrie telling you that today we are talking about

MALEFICENT

Where do we begin with this Disney movie in a world where 2 neighbouring kingdoms are at war, I wonder where that happens.. Some really great special effects with the usual power that Disney brings with big names for their projects. Another thing that Disney does is kill of the parents of the Protagonists which is an odd decision well between that and "True loves kiss" which adds to the mess.

I do have to admit they have a vast array of creatures in this world. As always with films im always impressed by the armour and the intricacy of the gold leaf which must be difficult to produce. Boom a war montage who doesn't like that. I wonder when kings stopped going to battle like idiots in movies . One of the problems that i have about Disney they make ambitious men assholes. Lime green protoplasm aka the evil colour of Disney.

'Magic and very good with children of course'

Well if I have learnt anything from this don't use pixies to raise my kids. They just play Chinese checkers. I'm usually not a fan of the age montage but this one was done very well done and another dumb princess come on give me a smart one, but I do like the mud fight scene and one of the few new things i like about this movie is the introduction of the iron weakness and my favourite character is the Raven he is brilliant.

REVIEW IN SPANISH 

Vamos a la parte que más me llamó la atención de esta película: ¡los colores! Suena tonto, pero los colores elegidos para cada escena de la película fueron seleccionados por una razón. La paleta de color varía según el personaje va cambiando. Es una manera que me encanta para subrayar sutilmente en que punto del arco argumentativo de cada uno nos encontramos. 

El ejemplo que usaré, será el de la misma Maléfica. Desde que empieza la película podemos ver que tiene 2 paletas de color: una dominada por los colores marrón, dorado, amarillo, y blanco; y otra en la que predominan los colores negro y verde. 

La primera la vemos antes de que le amputen las alas, luego pasamos a la segunda cuando decide maldecir Aurora, pero vemos que poco a poco cuando esta se va ganando su corazón los colores dorados vuelven poco a poco a su atuendo. Hasta que finalizamos en una escena donde Maléfica intenta romper la maldición en un atuendo completamente amarillo y blanco. 

También ocurre algo interesante al final de la película, y es que Maléfica vuelve a sus vestidos negros a pesar de haberse establecido que ya ha vuelto a ser la hada buena que era. Sin embargo, este cambio coincide con Aurora descubriendo que está maldita, y su posterior batalla con el rey Stephan. Esto personalmente no lo interpreto como ella volviendo a la maldad, sino enfrentándose a su pasado y al daño que ha hecho. 

NOTA: lo anterior se confirma, en mi opinión, cuando está viendo a Aurora dormir a través de una cortina dorada. Según yo esto quería decir que la ve con cariño y reconoce lo que ha hecho mal.
